Mueller and O’Connell Bakery in Abbeyleix, County Laois — a mother/daughter bakery in a former bank! How cool is that? This was my first stop in Ireland. I’d been up since 5 AM the previous day, worked almost a full day, then headed to the Philly airport with “Him Experienced Traveler,” where we chit-chatted for 2.5 hours before catching our seven-hour flight. Ten minutes into the flight, the lady in front of him accidentally dropped water on his foot. Oops. She felt so bad about it. He took it in stride. We got the rental car, hit the road, and … ended up here. How could we not? Just look at the gorgeous exterior! Anyway. At the bakery? I may have completely stumbled over my order, since I was internally wondering, “Do I normally say cardaMOM or cardaMON?” I may have said both. lol #ireland #irelandtravel #irishbakery
