Description

The 1980s brought introduced some of my favorite things: She-ra and He-man, My Little Pony, and Jell-O Pudding Pops. According to Culinary Lore, sales hit $100 million the first year alone. But, it wasn't enough profit. The 1990s ended that deliciousness and Pudding Pops were discontinued. In 2004, Jell-O allowed the Popsicle brand to use their name, and Popsicle brand Pudding Pops hit the shelves. But, if you, like me, remember, they weren't the same. Reclaim your once-beloved cold treat with the homemade pudding pops recipe below. It isn't a perfect match, as it will lack that hardened, ultra thin sheen of ice on the exterior (home freezers just can't compare to industrial), but the flavor is there. You will need a popsicle mold.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 3.9 oz. Box Chocolate Pudding (Cook n' Serve or Instant) (You can use homemade pudding too, just )
  • 2 Cups Milk
  • 1 Cup Cool Whip, Thawed

Instructions

  1. Combine Combine Milk and pudding mix for two minutes until completely combined.
  2. Fold in Cool Whip until zero streaks remain.
  3. Pour mixture into a pudding mold, dividing the mixture evening among six cups.
  4. Freeze for at least four hours or until the pudding mixture is set.
  5. Remove from the mold per manufacturer's instructions (usually running warm water along the outside of the mold to loosen it from the sides for 10-15 seconds. Then, grab the stick and the container, and pull (DO NOT TWIST)).
